Black bodysuit (featuring Wearall)

Show some skin this summer with a bodysuit. I got this Leora halter neck backless bodysuit from Wearall, an online shop with a great selection of dresses and bodysuits. While a bodysuit can be worn on its own, it looks great with a pair of jeans or shorts. I paired mine with my favorite Moussy jeans and some accessories. Showing some skin can be done right as long as you balance it out well. Also channeling my inner kitty cat vibes with the classic cat eye sunglasses from zeroUV.

Denim Day 2016

Today is Denim Day in LA and the US. According to DenimDayInfo.org, it all started with a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where the rape conviction was overturned, ruling that the rap victim was wearing tight jeans and must have helped her rapist remove the jeans, thereby consenting to the rape. The next day, the women in the Italian Parliament all wore jeans to work in solidarity with the victim. And in 1999, Denim Day was born in LA. 

By wearing denim, you can help raise awareness of rape and sexual assault, because it is never, ever ok to assault or be assaulted. Spread the word!

本日は、ロサンゼルスとアメリカでは「デニムデー」です。デニムデーって何？という人たちに、短いあらすじを。始まりは、イタリアの最高裁判所において、レイプ事件の被告の有罪が覆ったことが始まりでした。理由としては、レイプ被害者が着用していたデニムがタイトすぎたため、デニムを脱がされる時加害者に手を貸したのでは、すなわちレイプの同意をしたのではないか、という信じ難しい内容でした。翌日、議会で働いてる女性達がレイプ被害者をサポートするために、皆デニムを履いて出勤されたそうです。そのような女性達の支援によって、１９９９年にデニムデーが初めてロサンゼルスで設立されました。

この日にデニムを履くことによって、レイプや性的暴行の意識を高め、再発防止にも繋がるのではないでしょうか。絶対に、起こってはいけないことです。皆さんも全ての女性のためにも、「デニムデー」にデニムを着用しましょう！

stripes & denim at the sanja matsuri in asakusa

It's matsuri (festival) season again, and I was so excited to go to the Sanja Matsuri in Asakusa for the 2nd year in a row with my friend Alisa. The weather was perfect, a great start to the weekend. We stuffed ourselves with too much food, but somehow still managed to find room in our stomaches for dessert. Since I knew it would be warm and the day would consist of mostly walking, I opted for this striped H&M dress with my old Forever 21 denim which I haven't worn in forever, and adding some comfortable color with my New Balances.
