Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo - DISCOVERED & Bedsidedrama

Continuing with my Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo series part 2. For day 4, I wore a DVF pajama setup from her fall collection, which was perfectly comfortable for a day of going to shows and other work in between. I attended DISCOVERED & Bedsidedrama, but couldn't get adequate photos from DISCOVERED so if you are interested, check out the collection at Fashion Press. Bedsidedrama's collection, "Daydream Believer," was a girly, fairy-tale like loungewear collection with intricate headpieces to complete the looks. It was great to see a unique men's and women's collection in one day. Also met up with Anji of Salz Tokyo at one of the shows - great to see you!

Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo の続き、その２。４日目は、DVFのパジャマっぽいセットアップを着て行きました。一日中仕事からのショーからの移動が多かったので、楽チンスタイルがベスト。その日は、DISCOVERED & Bedsidedramaのショーに行ったのですが、DISCOVEREDであまり良い写真が撮れず。。コレクションをご覧になりたい方はファッションプレスまで！BedsidedramaのSSコレクションは「Daydream Believer」というタイトルで、すごくガーリーでおとぎ話みたいな雰囲気が素敵でした。ヘッドピースもお花冠やユニコーンという変わったものもあり、面白かったです。１日に、個性的なメンズとウィメンズコレクションが見れて良かったですね。そして、ショーでSalz Tokyoのアンジーさんとばったり！会えて良かった！

Diane von Furstenberg in Tokyo

And Diane is back in Japan! If you've been been following my blog two years ago, I was one of her escort models when she visited Japan for Tokyo Fashion Week, and also to commemorate the 40th anniversary of her wrap dress design (you can read more from that event here).

It's already been two years since she's visited Tokyo, and several models in the area welcomed her back at her store in Ginza. Each of us wore her unique designs from her 2016 Spring/Summer collection, and she explained the concept of her upcoming Fall 2016 collection titled "LOVE POWER." She always stresses the importance of loving oneself because that is the most empowering thing for a woman to be the best she can be. This time, she also revealed the heir to her brand - Jonathan Saunders, a renowned Scottish designer (read more about that here). Diane seemed eager to share this news with us, and I'm looking forward to what DVF will have in store for us. Congratulations Diane!


そして、またダイアンが来日しました！２年前から私のブログを読んでくれている方はご存知かもしれませんが、彼女の２年前の来日イベントでエスコートモデルをやらせていただきました（記事はこちらをご覧ください）。その頃はちょうど東京ファッションウィークで、彼女がデザインしたラップドレスの４０周年を記念するイベントも開催していました。

前回の来日以来、もう既に２年が経ち、今回は東京のモデルさんたちで彼女を銀座店で迎えました。一人一人が、彼女の独特な２０１６SSコレクションのデザインを身に付けました。ダイアンは、今期の２０１６年AWコレクションのテーマを説明してくれました。「LOVE POWER」をイメージしたコレクションは、自分のことを愛し、それを強みに女性らしさを楽しむことが大事だと話してくれました。そして、大きなニュースを発表しました。ブランドの跡継ぎが決定しました！スコットランドのデザイナー、ジョナソン・サンダースさんがDVFを引き継ぐことになりました。今後のDVFも楽しみになりました。ダイアン、おめでとうございます！

DVF in Japan

I mentioned very briefly in my last post that I participated in a special event, and this was it. I had the privilege of being one of the models to represent Diane von Furstenberg's Pop Wrap Dress from the Andy Warhol Collection for two events. She is famous for designing the wrap dress, which is what I am wearing (very easy to wear and so comfortable!), and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the dress. Apparently, it is a pretty long lifespan for a dress design, so I applaud her for her feat.  She had a huge exhibit in Los Angeles called "The Journey of a Dress," which can be viewed on the DVF website here. And coincidentally, it was Tokyo Fashion Week last week, and the DVF fashion show took place on Thursday. 

For the first event, Diane and the models arrived at the Isetan (Japanese department store) in Shijuku, and we posed for a 30 minute photo session where some of the guests were able to get a photo taken with Diane and the models, and get an autograph and the photo on the spot. It was so quick, so of course we didn't get to talk to her, but I enjoyed being able to stand next to her during the event. Two days later, we did the same thing but at the DVF boutique in Ginza. This time, Diane answered questions and spoke about herself, which was really interesting to listen to. Being able to hear about her life through her own words was truly inspiring. After she met with some of the guests there, we were immediately escorted to the DVF in Barney's, which was right down the street. A short photo session, then Diane was off to New York. What a busy lady! 

I only posted photos that were taken on my Canon, but I did post a few pictures from the Shinjuku event on my Instagram. What do you think of the Pop Wrap dresses? I loved the bold color combinations, and that most of them were pink :) It was such an honor for me to have been a part of this, and to have met an amazing woman that I admire. Her dream was to create something that could be a woman's best friend, and she did a very good job accomplishing just that with the wrap dress.
