blondy 2015 SS Lookbook feat. Samantha Mariko

I had been waiting for Japanese fashion brand blondy to post their 2015 SS Lookbook on their website. And finally! they did. This was my first lookbook gig as a model, and I'm not shy to say I am proud of my work here. The blondy team was also very pleased with the outcome, which is one of the best feelings as a model when your client is happy with your work. 

The theme of their SS collection is "My Standard Forever," meaning it's all about quality basics that can be worn for a lifetime. I loved wearing each of the items during the shoot - I could tell the design team put much time and care into each piece. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

from Letters Impromptu to Samantha Mariko

Happy almost Friday! I have a big announcement to make - my blog name has changed from Letters Impromptu to Samantha Mariko. I know I should've made an announcement before the change took place... sorry about that. Why did I make this change? I started blogging as Letters Impromptu back in college, and after much thought, I decided it was time to move on and fully embrace my own name. 

The rebranding process was made possible thanks to my very good friend Alex, who met with me to discuss the rebranding process while I was in California (he stayed at the cafe with me for 5 straight hours!), and gave me suggestions for layouts, fonts, etc and etc. I am so pleased that my blog looks just the way I had wanted it to look. I am so lucky to have a smart, patient and talented friend like Alex.

FEATURE | Interview for Cloth App Launch

I had been meaning to post about this earlier, but anyways, I'd like to introduce a new iPhone app called Cloth.

Cloth is a brand new fashion app where you upload your look, organize them by category, weather, etc, and share them with everyone else. According to The Next Web, "Cloth... is you personal outfit diary. And it's a beautifully designed personal diary to boot." Well, how can any fashion lover resist that? I definitely couldn't! Start by downloading the app here in the App Store. Sign up to create an account, and start uploading your looks! You can fan other users to check out their looks as well. I think it's neat there is a category for weather - very helpful for outfit ideas, especially for rainy or snowy days.

Cloth was also kind enough to interview me for the launch of their app. You can check it out here.

It's been a while since I posted some of my modeling work. These are the first set from a photo shoot I did about a month ago with two very talented artists. Most of you probably don't know, but I do have a sprinkle of freckles that aren't as noticeable as the added spray of freckles here (yep, it's makeup). I was unsure at first if I could pull it off, but I'm really satisfied with how it turned out. "Modern day Anne of Green Gables" - what do you think? Feel free to leave any comments or criticisms!
