With August just around the corner, it's finally starting to feel a lot like summer, or at least it is for me. The endless heat wave, summer barbecues and trips to the beach. And when its over 35 degrees Celsius everyday plus the humidity, less clothing is a must. This airy T-shirt dress from Blondy is the perfect summer basic, and add a couple of colorful accessories and you got yourself a beach-y outfit. I got this smiley tote and these handmade bracelets as birthday gifts, and they make my day instantly brighter. And I think I wear my pineapple headband almost everyday...

I'm really looking forward to the weekend - if everything goes well, I'll be recording a new song and I just got all the equipment I need to start practicing DJ-ing. I'm still a beginner and it's more difficult than I had thought, but I'm always up for the challenge. Hope you all are enjoying your summer and challenging yourself with something new! :)

あっという間に７月が終わろうとしている今日この頃、やっと夏！って感じがし始めた気がします。永遠と続く蒸し暑さ、夏のバーベキュー、海。そして、こんな暑さが続くと、なるべく薄い服装でいたいですよね！BlondyのTシャツワンピはとてもエアリーで、着回せるベーシックの一枚。今回は色んなアクセや小物で着飾ってみました。このスマイリーのバッグとミサンガはバースデープレゼントとして頂きました。可愛いでしょう？でも、このカチューシャは付け過ぎかな。。

今週末も楽しみ！新曲のレコーディングもあるし、DJ用の機材が揃ったので、練習に取りかかれる！まだまだ初心者で思った以上に難しいけど、頑張ります。皆さんも良い夏を、そして、新しいチャレンジをしてみて下さい！

blondy & BLONDY ReLISH 2015 AW showroom

A few days ago, I stopped by the blondy & BLONDY ReLISH joint showroom for their 2015 Autumn / Winter collection. Blondy asked me to model this collection as well, and it was such a great pleasure working with them again. The photos from the lookbook should be on the website in a couple of weeks! Clean setups, camel and chunky knits are in! Although a bit too warm now for knitwear.

先日、いつもお世話になっているblondyの２０１５AW展示会に行って来ました。今回もモデルをさせて頂き、本当に光栄です。Lookbook の画像は、数週間後にサイトに公開されると思います。お洒落なセットアップ、キャメル色、そしてざっくりニットが流行りそう。当分厚手のニットは着たくないけれど！

Blondy & BLONDY ReLISH 2015 SS Showroom Pt. 2

I just finished another photo shoot for Blondy's 2015 Summer Collection last week, and this week they are exhibiting the collection in Shibuya. It's still a surreal experience to see my photos displayed on the walls of their showroom, and for all the kind words I've received from the designer, the press staff and the photographer. Probably one of my favorite brands I've worked for thus far. I couldn't resist and purchased an item from the collection :)

今日はBlondy とBLONDY ReLISH 2015 サマーコレクションの展示会に遊びに行きました。先週、Blondy Lookbook の撮影を終えたばかりなのに、もう既に作品が展示会の壁を飾っているのを見ると、やっぱり嬉しいです。サマーコレクションもレトロな感じで可愛いものがたくさん！私もつい買ってしまいましたw　Blondyチーム、いつも優しくしていただいてありがとうございます！

blondy 2015 SS Lookbook feat. Samantha Mariko

I had been waiting for Japanese fashion brand blondy to post their 2015 SS Lookbook on their website. And finally! they did. This was my first lookbook gig as a model, and I'm not shy to say I am proud of my work here. The blondy team was also very pleased with the outcome, which is one of the best feelings as a model when your client is happy with your work. 

The theme of their SS collection is "My Standard Forever," meaning it's all about quality basics that can be worn for a lifetime. I loved wearing each of the items during the shoot - I could tell the design team put much time and care into each piece. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

blondy & BLONDY ReLISH 2015 SS Collection Showroom

On Friday, I was invited to check out the 2015 SS showrooms for Japanese women's fashion brand blondy and it's sister brand, BLONDY ReLISH. What was so special about visiting blondy showroom was that I was the model for their 2015 SS lookbook. Imagine my surprise at seeing my face on the walls of their showroom! I was so happy I almost cried. I've always wanted to model for a lookbook, so this was an amazing opportunity for me. I'm glad it was for blondy - everyone on the team was so nice and friendly, and were also very supportive when I told them about the release of my new song (I mentioned it in this post). The last photo is with the photographer, designer/director and the lady in charge of press-related matters. I didn't get to spend a traditional American Thanksgiving this year, but I am so thankful for opportunities like these that come my way. Thank you blondy!!

金曜日に、blondyとBLONDY ReLISH の2015SS展示会に行ってきました。実は、先週blondy のLOOKBOOKモデルをさせて頂きました。展示会で飾られていた写真を見たとき、大変感動しました。こういう仕事をずっとしたかったので、夢が一つ叶いました。blondyの皆さん、本当にありがとうございました！とても華やかな、素敵な展示会でした。
