Nakameguro strolling with Ghostdances

The cherry blossoms were not quite in full bloom, but Chris and I enjoyed the early blossoms and the crowds of people around Nakameguro area. Hopefully I'll be able to see them in their glory before I leave for home sweet home California. And oh, you gotta check out these cute shoe accessories I got from Mohee Accessories. They will add a fresh pop to your lace-up shoes.

Farfetch x The Black Market

Hints of spring are in the air - this past weekend, the weather decided to take a turn and jump up 10 degrees, only to fall right back down to the usual 10-degree weather. At least I'm updating my spring wardrobe to be ready for the glorious spring days ahead. This black collared chiffon dress from The Black Market is a perfect minimal piece. I decided to keep things simple with black skinnies and sneakers but with a pop of color with my new MARNI tote from Farfetch. I usually don't wear or own anything with a floral print, but this tote has an element of chic that can work with the rest of my wardrobe, plus it fits all my things and more.

Also, for all my readers, The Black Market is offering 15% off on all items with promo code mariko. Happy shopping!

I'm sure many of you are adding spring essentials to your wardrobes after a long winter. What are your favorite items so far? Let me know in the comments!

Cherry blossoms through my iPhone

Spring is so beautiful in Japan when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. I didn't have my camera on me when I was in the Roppongi Midtown area, so I snapped a few photos on my iPhone. The blossoms there were a whitish pink, almost like snow. Pure bliss.

OUTFIT | Prepping for spring in sporty casual

coat: Ines de la Fressange for Uniqlo (similar here)
shirt: Uniqlo (similar here)
sweater: Uniqlo
denim: Le Ciel Bleu (similar here)
tote: Zara
shoes: adidas

Part deux of the weekend series, and finally sporting a spring-appropriate outfit! It took a while there... Anyways, if you've red my previous post, I introduced Pure Cafe and my blogger friend Yuka from Blossomlink, and here's the outfit I wore to our brunch. If you couldn't tell already, I am a pretty big Uniqlo lover for their clean and affordable pieces. I recently snagged the sweater for about 3000 yen ($30 USD), and decided to dress it down with some jeans and my adidas. I can already foresee myself wearing this outfit a couple more times this spring. And, oh, happy March!

sakura blossoms in the rain

(jacket: vintage Levi's; dress: Forever 21; boots: Doc Martens; satchel: Suzutan;
watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs; rings: Brandy Melville)

photos by Lisa from Paint with Stars

Yesterday, I met up with my friend Lisa in Nakameguro to do a quick photo shoot with the pretty cherry blossoms near Meguro-bashi (Meguro Bridge). It was extremely windy that I thought our umbrellas were going to break! But the rain wasn't that bad so we went on with the shoot and these are some of the shots we got :) I'm really pleased with how Lisa captured the sakura in the background - it almost looks like whitish-pink snow.

In contrast to my last outfit post, I really wanted to bring out my spring wardrobe with my ever-favorite vintage Levi's denim jacket and a light gray dress I found at Forever 21. I wanted to keep the whole outfit casual, so that was where my Doc Martens came in (also to keep my feet dry in the rain).

I can't wait to see more cherry blossoms in the next week or few weeks because they are in bloom only for a short period of time. And I'm sure they are absolutely gorgeous at night as well!

Love,

Samantha Mariko
