Black, white and stars

I feel very fortunate these days to be busy with new and prospective jobs, my current jobs, and other events here and there. Sometimes my blog goes on the wayside a little bit because of that, but it's always on the back of my mind. I'm hoping to produce more outfit posts in the coming weeks, as well as other content. 

I was taking voice lessons consistently since last summer, then there was a 2 month hiatus starting the beginning of the year. And yesterday, I finally had my first voice lesson of the year, which was really helpful  and just enjoyable overall. Having studied piano most of my life, I do miss the weekly  music lessons and the feeling of learning something new every week and practicing that until I'm comfortable with my new skills. If there is a skill you are trying to perfect like me, consistency and practice is key! Like my grandma always said, "If you don't use it, you lose it."

最近、仕事が少しずつ増えてきて忙しくなってきていますが、とても幸せだなと思っています。そのため、ブログの方はたまに後回しになってしまうことがありますが、常に頭の奥で「やらなきゃ、やらなきゃ！」と自分にリマインドしています。もうちょっといいペースで私服コーデの記事やその他の記事をアップしていきたいですね。

去年の夏から、毎週頑張ってボーカルのレッスンを受けていたんですけど、新年からぴたっと止まってしまって、、そして昨日、やっとレッスンを再開しました。自分のためになるし、やっぱり楽しいです。人生のほとんどピアノをやっていたので、毎週のレッスンがたまに恋しくなります。毎週新しいことを学んで、練習して、新しいスキルが身に付く繰り返し。新しいものを身に付けたい時は、一貫性と練習が大事です！私のアメリカのおばあちゃんの口癖、「使わないと、（スキルは）無くなるよ」を思い出します。

I usually don't wear or own anything with a floral print, but this tote has an element of chic that can work with the rest of my wardrobe, plus it fits all my things and more.

Uniqlo and Lemaire - layering up in black & white

Sometimes I like to keep things simple in terms of color, but layer up in different lengths and textures. Uniqlo always does collaborations with different designers, and this season I picked up this cropped knit and wide-legged pant from the Uniqlo and Lemaire collection. To balance the cropped knit and make it wearable during the cold winter days, I layered a white shirt underneath. I finished this minimal outfit off with a clean-cut chester coat and my new Nikes.

I do love wearing color sometimes, don't get me wrong, but a very simple, minimal outfit really suits my mood most of the time. It's easier to create outfits with a minimal-style wardrobe, and you can stand out in an effortlessly chic way. How do you like to dress during the winter months? Let me know in the comments!

たまには、色合いがすごくシンプルな服を着るのが好きです。でも、その場合は服の丈感や素材をミックスしながらコーディネートを組みます。ユニクロは毎シーズン、様々なデザイナーとコラボレーションしていて、今期のUniqlo and Lemaireのコレクションからこのクロップ丈のニットとワイドパンツを購入しました。冬の日にクロップニットのみを着るのはさすがに寒いので、白シャツをインしました。このコーデは、シンプルな黒コートに白黒のNikeのスニーカーで更にミニマル度をアップ！

色が華やかな服装ももちろん好きですが、やはりシンプルでミニマルなコーディネートはいつでも着れる気がします。ミニマルなワードローブを持っていれば、コーデを組むのも簡単だし、楽なのにシックなイメージになれますよ！冬はどういう服装が好きですか？コメントで教えてね！

Farfetch x Unfollow contest - Summer festival style

It's almost farewell to summer. But while it's still around, I'm posting a summer festival style that can be worn going into fall. Farfetch Japan asked me to join their contest in collaboration with "Unfollow (#unfollowers)," or innovators who don't follow trends but rather inspire others through their unique style. For the contest, I was asked to create the perfect summer festival outfit using items from their site, and also my own OOTD snaps with items from my own wardrobe. For me, comfort and style are both very important when going to a summer festival - you are most likely standing all day in pretty severe weather, but you also want to look your best. I opted for some casual pieces that weren't too loud but also practical for a day in the sun. And a little bit of suede is perfect for a late-summer festival or event. This suede fringed vest from Forever 21 is one of my favorite pieces I picked up recently.

夏がとうとう終わりを告げようとしています。でも、まだ少しでも夏の湿気が残っている間、この夏フェスをインスパイアしたコーデをアップしとこうと思います。Farfetch Japan より、「アンフォロー」とのコラボレーション企画が開催されていて、そのコンテストに参加することにしました。「アンフォロワー(#unfollower)」とは、真に自分をらしく生きる掟破りなイノベーターたちのこと。今回のテーマは「夏フェス・パーフェクトコーディネート」です。Farfetchのサイトのアイテムを使って、夏フェスコーデのムードボードを作りました。プラス、自分のワードローブを使用して、秋でも着回せる夏フェスコーデを組んでみました。夏フェスは暑い中立つ時間が長いので、動きやすくて着やすい洋服がベスト。カジュアルでスタイリッシュなアイテムをチョイスしてみました。スウェード素材は秋にもぴったりなので、このForever 21のベストはお気に入りです♡

It's been a while since I posted an outfit. With the humidity creeping in over here, I could live in shorts every single day. Shorts aside, I want to introduce the cutest brand ever, Jump from Paper. I seriously had to do a double take when I saw the bags on their website - everything looks 2D, like cartoon drawings made into bags. Although it doesn't fit as many things as a regular backpack would, I can fit all of my daily essentials in this one. I kept the rest of the outfit casual to match the playfulness of the backpack.

And who knew Akihabara had hidden shrines with kitties napping in the afternoon sun? Too cute.

最近は、毎日ショーパンで過ごせるくらい、蒸し暑くなっております。ショーパンはさておき、今回はこの可愛らしいリュックのブランド、Jump from Paperを紹介したいです！初めてホームページを見たとき、マジでびっくりしました。２D？？のバッグ？？実際届い他ものは、ちゃんとバッグとして活用でき、しかも可愛い！今回はリュックに合わせて、カジュアルなコーデにしてみました。秋葉原の神社で子猫ちゃんにこんにちは。
