I was working both Christmas & Christmas Eve, but I had dinner with some of my friends and ate too much cake than I normally do. My real holiday will be in 3 days where I'll have a couple days off to relax and hopefully catch up with my blogging and other things. Did you guys have a nice Christmas holiday? <3

Wit the change of season, I thought it would be a good time to upgrade some of my accessories. One Little Forest sent me some handmade cases for my iPhone, which was perfect to refresh some of my daily items. I love the minimal design of this henna-inspired iPhone wallet, and the fact that it covers my screen when I'm not using my phone. After my trip to Seoul, the weather in Tokyo finally started to cool down. I can't say I love the cold weather, but bundling up in cute outerwear is something I look forward to in the fall and winter months. I currently live in an area where it takes 2 hours in the least to get to the nearest beach, so it was a real privilege growing up next to one in Surf City Huntington Beach. My brother and I took a quick drive to our local beach and enjoyed some California sun. When my dad passed away two summers ago, all I wanted to wear was black, no matter how warm it was. I always thought it was respectful to mourn for those who have passed by wearing black. Just two weeks ago, my grandmother passed away, but the things I remember most about her are her smile, laughter, her warmth and love. Instead of donning myself all in black, I want to celebrate her amazing life by wearing some more color. I hope to follow her footsteps and be a more gracious and caring person for myself and those around me.

Trying to live life more colorfully, take it day by day, and make the best of it. Until next time, California.

現在住んでいるところは、海まで2時間はかかるので、海の近くで生まれ育ったことに感謝してます。先日、弟とハンティントン・ビーチまでちょこっとドライブしてきました。2年前の夏、父が亡くなったとき、どんなに暑くても黒以外の色は着たくありませんでした。2週間前、祖母が亡くなりましたが、一番思い出に残っているのは彼女の笑顔と笑い声、心の暖かさととてつもない愛。暗い色で彼女の死を悲しむより、もっと色を取り入れて、彼女の素敵な人生を祝いたい。祖母のように、愛想の良い、気遣いのある女性になりたいです。

人生をもっとカラフルに、頑張って生きていこう。カリフォルニア、またね。

The long-awaited cherry blossom season has finally arrived, and it's looking a lot more like spring in Tokyo. Lisa from Paint with Stars and I have been shooting during cherry blossom season (check out our post from last year), and this year turned out to be even better weather-wise. Ueno park was lively with tourists and families trying to enjoy and capture the beauty of sakura on their cameras as well. These distinct changes of seasons are what make me proud to be Japanese, and to be able to live in Japan to savor it all.

Last week, I received a few items from the French brand Comptoir des Cotonniers, and these boyfriend jeans were one of them. These are the best boyfriend-fit jeans hands down - perfect fit,  perfect wash, perfect length. I rolled mine up a bit to balance them out with my heels. Some of my Uniqlo pieces from last season went perfectly with the denim. Perfect for a stroll in the park underneath the pink blossoms:)

桜が咲きましたね！お花見をした方も多かったみたいです。私とリサさんは、上野公園の桜を見に、やってきました。観光客や家族連れでにぎわっていました！流石日本の桜田なーと、改めて思いました。こういう時、日本人でよかった、日本に住んでて幸せだ、と思います。

先日、コントワー・デ・コトニエからデニムなど、可愛いアイテムをたくさん頂きました。今回は、コントワーのボーイフレンドデニムでコーデを組んでみました。フィット感と長さがちょうどいい、パーフェクトなデニムです。ユニクロのスェットとトレンチ、そしてスティーブ・マデンのヒールでちょっと大人っぽく。公園でのお散歩にぴったり♪

Hey guys, it's been a long week for me last week, and I was hibernating a bit, refreshing myself for the upcoming week. Tokyo Fashion Week has started, and I'm planning on attending a few of the shows later in the week (excited!). Overall, I feel like winter is coming to an end, and so many new opportunities, events and changes are taking place everywhere with spring approaching.

Although the weather has been much more promising, it's still chilly and I can't part with my winter coats just yet. These photos are from a few days ago, and I guess I was in the mood to clad myself in all black (not a surprise coming from me, haha). I just really love these pointed loafers I got on sale at the Tokyu Shibuya Scramble. Just casually browsing through, and just my luck, chic flats in my size and under 7000 yen ($70). It's so so hard to find my shoe size in Japan because women here have such tiny feet and of course I have feet of a giant's. I think these shoes were meant to be. Does that every happen to you, or is it just me? :)

３月に入り、やっと暖かくなってきました。でも、やはりまだコートは必要ですね。数日前も、このようにオールブラックのコーディネートにまたもや片寄ってしまいました。黒はいつでもシックに着こなせるので、欠かせないですね。。今度はもうちょっと春っぽい服を着ます！（笑）でも、渋谷スクランブルでゲットしたこのポイントトーローファーは履きたくて。サイズもぴったり、しかも７０００円以下！！My new favorite item.
