ELLEgirl Japan is one of my favorite fashion magazines, and it is truly an honor to be featured on their website. Take a look at the rest of the photos and article here on how to stay rainproof  AND cute on a rainy day :)

OUTFIT | Tropical prints in the rain

top & skirt: Forever 21
cardigan: Zara
shoes: Vans

The rain comes and goes, and this was one of those days where it was pouring on us while we were trying to shoot. Luckily, Lisa and I found some decent locations where we could avoid the rain. One of the more high-end areas in Tokyo, Omotesando is probably one of my favorite places to shop or dine, and even just to go for a lazy stroll to find hidden boutiques and cafes.

This top & skirt setup from Forever 21 is my ultimate go-to for summer, with its bold, tropical print and waterproof fabric. I might post this outfit again, but with photos taken in the summer sunlight,  adding sunglasses and sandals for a different look. But a gloomy, rainy day wasn't so bad - it calls to say there are always positives in any situation. And Lisa is a true professional, as always :)

Kiehl's Sakura 1000 Project Launch Party

Tonight was the Kiehl's Sakura 1000 Project Launch Party in Omotesando. The sakura version of the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque is a collaboration item with illustrator Buggy, and all proceeds for the masque go to the children living in the Tohoku area, which was devastated by the tsunami. There was also a wall where party guests were able to put sakura and sakura petal stickers to promote the charity event. This is the perfect charity event because I use this Rare Earth Masque religiously, and there's even more reason to buy it now if all proceeds are going to help the dear children. Also, I spy my big sis Marie in the introduction video that was displayed throughout the party :) Way to go, Marie!!

NARUTO Exhibition

You know how sometimes, you're determined to do something, accomplish something, and it somehow never goes through? It happens to me all the time, and I almost thought I wouldn't be able to make it to the Naruto exhibition in Roppongi, Tokyo. I've been reading the manga series since I was 14 or 15, and I was faithfully watching the TV series until I moved to Japan, and then I stopped. I just didn't have time, or so I thought. Anyways, I had half a day off last weekend and decided this would be my last chance to visit the exhibit. And boy was I in for something amazing - an exhibit that left me in awe, bringing back many memories of the series before I stopped reading and watching it, and the very ending that I have yet to explore. All I have to say is, Masashi Kishimoto is a true genius, as well as his team that brought Naruto and his world to life. Now, I must reread and re-watch every book and episode.

OUTFIT | A 2D affair with Jump from Paper

backpack: Jump from Paper
top: Topshop
shorts: vintage Levi's
shirt: Gap
jacket: Patagonia
boots: Dr. Martens
hat: New Era

It's been a while since I posted an outfit. With the humidity creeping in over here, I could live in shorts every single day. Shorts aside, I want to introduce the cutest brand ever, Jump from Paper. I seriously had to do a double take when I saw the bags on their website - everything looks 2D, like cartoon drawings made into bags. Although it doesn't fit as many things as a regular backpack would, I can fit all of my daily essentials in this one. I kept the rest of the outfit casual to match the playfulness of the backpack.

And who knew Akihabara had hidden shrines with kitties napping in the afternoon sun? Too cute.
