In memory of 3/11, "Aizu Bandaisan" EDM remixes by E.D.O

Today marks 5 years after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Even though it's already been 5 years, people in the Tohoku region are still suffering, some not being able to return to their homes even now. E.D.O released a new single today titled "Aizu Bandaisan," a traditional Japanese anthem about the Bandaisan mountain in Aizu, Fukushima (Fukushima is one of the prefectures that suffered from the nuclear explosion). E.D.O, which consists of Marc Panther from Globe, Daichi Yokota and Claudio, is a unit that creates EDM remixes of traditional Japanese songs, and I was lucky enough to participate in one of the tracks. I hope my lyrics will bring even a little bit of hope to those in the Tohoku region. All 3 remixes are available on iTunes in 111 countries, ad also on Amazon. 本日３／１１で、東日本大震災から５年が経ちました。５年という年月はあっという間でしたが、震災と原発で苦しんでいる方はまだまだたくさんいます。ニュースを見ると、まだ避難生活をしていて、家に帰れないという人が数多くいます。今回、Globeのマークパンサーさんを含むEDMユニットE.D.Oが新しいリミックスシングル、「会津磐梯山」を１１１国でiTunesにて配信されました。私は、DAICHI YOKOTA remixに声で参加させて頂きました。大震災で苦しんでいる人たち、今でも苦労をしている人たちへ向けて応援の言葉を書きました。iTunesとAmazonで配信されているので、是非聴いてみて下さい。

三代目 J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE "Feel So Alive" music video

I'm so excited to announce one of my most recent works as a model. Jpop's hottest group, J Soul Brothers 3rd Generation from EXILE TRIBE's newest single and music video, "Feel So Alive" is now up on Youtube, and I was fortunate enough to be casted as one of the models in the video. Keeping to traditional Japanese themes but adding Western influences is what makes this video so fresh and unique. It was an honor to work with such an amazing team and to see these talented boys up close. Now I see why they are so popular.

ついに解禁されました！！三代目J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBEの新曲PV、「Feel So Alive」に出演させて頂きました！今回で、三代目のPVに出させてもらって2回目で、本当に光栄に思っています。このPVのテーマは、日本の伝統と西洋文化のミックス。日本伝統的なセットとモデル達の衣装に、三代目のメンバーと曲の西洋的なストリートスタイルが絡まっていて、とても新鮮な作品に出来上がっていると思います。素晴らしい現場でお仕事をさせて頂いて、間近で三代目のメンバー達の活躍ぶりを見れて、本当に幸せです。

The hair, makeup and costumes were so elaborate and nothing like I've seen or worn before. Caroline, Justine and I each represented the wild boar, deer and butterfly from the Japanese playing cards. 

ヘアメイクと衣装が想像以上に素敵すぎて、今まで着たことのないような美しいものでした。カロリーネ、ジャスティーンと私は花札の猪鹿蝶を表しています。私が蝶蝶ですよ！

All the costumes were borrowed from designers, but the hair arrangements were all done by the students. 20 students and models in all, each look unique and inspiring. 今日は、資生堂アカデミーのファッションショーに参加させて頂きました。事務所のモデルちゃんと一緒で、テンション上がりました！衣装はデザイナーから借りていましたが、アカデミーの学生さんがすべてのヘアメイクを担当していました。モデルと生徒が２０名、どれもユニークで刺激的でした。かっこいいファッションショーに出れて、光栄です。ありがとうございました！

Currently in my bag

In Tokyo, my main source of transportation is the train, and the rest of the time I'm walking to get from place to place; therefore, I'm always trying to keep my luggage as lightweight as possible. Anyways, here are the daily essentials I carry around with me:

I feel very fortunate these days to be busy with new and prospective jobs, my current jobs, and other events here and there. Sometimes my blog goes on the wayside a little bit because of that, but it's always on the back of my mind. I'm hoping to produce more outfit posts in the coming weeks, as well as other content. 

I was taking voice lessons consistently since last summer, then there was a 2 month hiatus starting the beginning of the year. And yesterday, I finally had my first voice lesson of the year, which was really helpful  and just enjoyable overall. Having studied piano most of my life, I do miss the weekly  music lessons and the feeling of learning something new every week and practicing that until I'm comfortable with my new skills. If there is a skill you are trying to perfect like me, consistency and practice is key! Like my grandma always said, "If you don't use it, you lose it."

最近、仕事が少しずつ増えてきて忙しくなってきていますが、とても幸せだなと思っています。そのため、ブログの方はたまに後回しになってしまうことがありますが、常に頭の奥で「やらなきゃ、やらなきゃ！」と自分にリマインドしています。もうちょっといいペースで私服コーデの記事やその他の記事をアップしていきたいですね。

去年の夏から、毎週頑張ってボーカルのレッスンを受けていたんですけど、新年からぴたっと止まってしまって、、そして昨日、やっとレッスンを再開しました。自分のためになるし、やっぱり楽しいです。人生のほとんどピアノをやっていたので、毎週のレッスンがたまに恋しくなります。毎週新しいことを学んで、練習して、新しいスキルが身に付く繰り返し。新しいものを身に付けたい時は、一貫性と練習が大事です！私のアメリカのおばあちゃんの口癖、「使わないと、（スキルは）無くなるよ」を思い出します。
