My last post from my trip to California - this was from my last day there in Huntington Beach. I made a short but sweet stop at Sweet Elle Cafe with Sylvia and her friend, and we later headed over to Huntington Beach Public Library for a quick shoot. I did a photo shoot with her a couple of years ago, and her photography skills never cease to amaze me. Times likes I wish I still lived in California...

Since the weather was pretty warm, I paired a silk T-shirt with these relaxed pants from Brandy Melville for a mature but casual look. I seriously can't get enough of black, or simple accessories at the moment. And I just love my new Marc by Marc Jacobs watch that my mom got for me as a late Christmas gift. I can't believe I've been living without a watch for over a year... can't let that happen anymore.

On a completely different note, it's almost Friday and that means I get to see my friend who's back in Japan permanently :) Can't wait to see her!

interview with asian fortune magazine

Hey everyone!

I hope you are staying warm this time of year, especially if you are living  in a place like Japan! 

I'm finally back in Tokyo, settling myself into the daily grind again. 

I'm also eager to announce that an interview I did with Asian Fortune Magazine is finally up on their website! The article, "Growing up Half Asian American: Curse of Gift?" gave me the opportunity to answer questions about my upbringing and experiences being half-Japanese.

My last few days in Orange County were spent shopping, walking around Main Street in Huntington Beach, and catching up with my friends over good food and drinks. Also, a family dinner at Tokyo Table consisting of American-style sushi. I already miss the summer weather despite it being winter, my family, and my friends. But it's time for me to officially start my new year!

Catalina

I didn't realize Catalina Island was such a beautiful place until my family and I visited a few days ago. It was one of my father's favorite places, and now I can see why. I'll be back again, Dad.
