Okami Kult in Shibuya

What better location than Shibuya, Tokyo to shoot some street style. I've mentioned in previous posts that Viktor is the creative mind behind the Tokyo street wear brand Okami Kult. This time I styled one of his logo T-shirts my way with some of my favorite accessories and street-inspired pieces in my closet. And the backstreets of Shibuya are home to some of the coolest graffiti and other street art. I think the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Okami Kult Spring/Summer 2016

I love supporting my friends. Apart from my family, they are the ones who support me with my pursuits, so it only makes sense to do what I can for them. This is my second time modeling for Okami Kult, a Tokyo-based street wear brand by my friend Viktor, who is also a fantastic photographer (make sure to check out his work!). The graphic Ts for the Spring/Summer collection are 100% cotton & sweatshop free. Viktor actually created the design for the white T-shirt himself - an origami okami (wolf) on the tip of a finger. I'll be doing a separate post of one of the Okami T-shirt styled my way so stay tuned <3

OUTFIT | Blue on gray denim

jacket: Forever 21
jeans: Le Ciel Bleu
wedges: Zara
clutch: Dezso
sunglasses: zeroUV
watch: BABY-G

It's the first day of October and we're back with more Paint with Stars Photography! After savoring some delicious french toast at Aaliyah cafe in Shinjuku, we snapped these shots in the middle of the streets. Sometimes the streets are blocked off for pedestrians in certain parts of Tokyo, and Ginza is also an example. I am in love with this denim jacket that I picked up at Forever 21 - I also wore it in my post with Sarah Ching Photography (view the post here). It just goes with anything and everything.

Speaking of Forever 21, my style photo is up on their VOGUE girl Japan x Forever 21 campaign, which features 21 fall outfits using Forever 21 items. They made some cute LINE stamps, too, so check those out while you're at it!

My favorite sunglasses brand, ZeroUV, launched their behind the scenes video, "ZeroUV + You Lookbook." Featuring bloggers and models from the U.S. and Japan (including myself!), it's like a final curtain call for the summer. It was a such a pleasure working with the ZeroUV team for their latest project - bravo!

OUTFIT | pitch black in the sun

Hey guys, happy Monday!

(sweater: Uniqlo; pants: Le Ciel Bleu (similar pants here); backpack: Mono (similar backpack here);
shoes: Vans; sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

photos by Lisa from Paint with Stars

You probably won't believe me when I say it's been raining all day today, because just a few days ago it was so sunny! I spent a quick afternoon in Okachimachi with Lisa the other day, a stop on the Yamanote line that I've actually never gotten off at before. It proved to be a very cute area, with traditional-looking vending streets reminiscent of "old Japan."

I've been shopping at Uniqlo a lot lately, mainly because they have so many good collaboration lines at the moment. This sweat top I'm wearing is from the "Urban Sweats" line designed by Alexandre Plokhov, designer for Helmut Lang. You have to check out the other sweats! They are all in either gray or black and I seriously wish I had them all! I also bought a pair of sweat pants, which I hope to be posting on the blog soon. I decided to add more black to this outfit to make the sweater look as urban as possible with black pants, my vans, and my favorite Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses that Shop Bop was kind enough to send me. More cool sunglasses from the brand here at Shopbop :)

It seems like Uniqlo is opening up more branches outside of Japan - is it in or near your hometown? It recently opened up a shop in Orange County where I'm from!

Love,

Samantha Mariko
