Hi all! Since I love checking beauty blogs to see what kind of skincare advice and recommendations are out there, I decided to do an updated skincare post myself. I'm going to start with my morning routine first.
Cleansing: I try to keep things simple when it comes to cleansing. I was using oil cleansers before, but when I went to the dermatologist a few months ago, the derm told me any oil products can clog pores so I should not be using them... I was pretty disappointed when she told me that because I had an almost all-oil products skincare routine going on. I have really sensitive, acne-prone skin so I decided to follow her advice.
I recently found this video via Pinterest about the most effective way to wash your face, and so far, I'm finding it very useful (I am using the first video on the site as reference). The thermal water I use to prep my face is Avene Thermal Spring Water. I spray this all over my face, then wash my face with the Yes to Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser. I picked this up the last time I visited California a few months ago, and it is great for my sensitive skin. After washing and rinsing with tepid water, I spray more thermal water on my face like in the video.
Toning & Moisturizing: After cleansing, I apply my Country & Stream Natural Honey Lotion from Loft. Another tidbit I found on Pinterest is that honey is one of the best things to use to treat acne. I was using real honey on my face for a while, but since it gets messy, I've been using this honey lotion (toner) instead. I apply with a cotton pad all over my face and neck. Then, I moisturize my face with Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre, which also doubles as a primer. Many of the makeup artists I have worked with recommended this to me and I love it. The last thing I apply before makeup is sunscreen. The La Roche-Posay Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid is perfect because it is literally ultra light and made specifically for sensitive skin.
Do you guys use any of these products? What do you use for your morning skincare routine?
I would love to read any recommendations!

Hi dear, I haven't tried any of these products before, i don't think most of them are available here. I have very sensitive skin too so I like using more natural based products. Thanks for sharing and reviewing these. I am grateful for your kind comment over at mine.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried these. I want to try the yes product line. Heard wonderful things about it. Gotta try these other brands too! Your skin is beautiful!

Oh I love the "Yes To" products, I always use the cucumber-ones myself. And la Roche Posay works wonders too. I'm unfamiliar with the other products, but it's really nice that you're sharing this. I might change my morning skincare routine myself too and cut out the oil based stuff I own.
ReplyDeleteI´m addicted to Avene products, that thermal water is wonderfull!!

ReplyDeleteI forgot to respond to your comment. We don't have the widest range of products here compared to over countries but we do have some good locally made beauty ranges.
