LINE Collection showroom

Do ya'll know about the texting app, LINE? If you don't it's a very popular app in Korea and Japan, and even some of my friends in the states use it to keep in touch with friends in Asia. It's easy to use and I love the variety of character "stamps" you can send to your friends. Anyways, LINE Japan recently started "LINE COLLECTION," which includes many different Japan-based fashion brands, almost like a boutique. The showroom was held in Shibuya Hikarie shopping mall, and I ran into my friend Rika who is also in my agency. Aren't these LINE character water bottles the cutest?

日本の方はLINEご存知ですよね？昨日は「LINE COLLECTION」展示会に遊びに行きました。LINEでのファッション分野として最近立ち上げられて、日本をベースとした様々なブランドが集結したコレクション、ちょっとブティック的な感じでした。すごく個性溢れたブランドが集まっていて、とても面白い展示会でした。ラインのキャラクターもすごく好きなので、良かったです♪同じ事務所のリカちゃんとも合流！そして、前働いてた会社の方々とサプライズの再会ができました。

It's almost farewell to summer. But while it's still around, I'm posting a summer festival style that can be worn going into fall. Farfetch Japan asked me to join their contest in collaboration with "Unfollow (#unfollowers)," or innovators who don't follow trends but rather inspire others through their unique style. For the contest, I was asked to create the perfect summer festival outfit using items from their site, and also my own OOTD snaps with items from my own wardrobe. For me, comfort and style are both very important when going to a summer festival - you are most likely standing all day in pretty severe weather, but you also want to look your best. I opted for some casual pieces that weren't too loud but also practical for a day in the sun. And a little bit of suede is perfect for a late-summer festival or event. This suede fringed vest from Forever 21 is one of my favorite pieces I picked up recently.

夏がとうとう終わりを告げようとしています。でも、まだ少しでも夏の湿気が残っている間、この夏フェスをインスパイアしたコーデをアップしとこうと思います。Farfetch Japan より、「アンフォロー」とのコラボレーション企画が開催されていて、そのコンテストに参加することにしました。「アンフォロワー(#unfollower)」とは、真に自分をらしく生きる掟破りなイノベーターたちのこと。今回のテーマは「夏フェス・パーフェクトコーディネート」です。Farfetchのサイトのアイテムを使って、夏フェスコーデのムードボードを作りました。プラス、自分のワードローブを使用して、秋でも着回せる夏フェスコーデを組んでみました。夏フェスは暑い中立つ時間が長いので、動きやすくて着やすい洋服がベスト。カジュアルでスタイリッシュなアイテムをチョイスしてみました。スウェード素材は秋にもぴったりなので、このForever 21のベストはお気に入りです♡

Metrocity 2015 AW showroom

Last week, I was invited to the Metrocity 2015 AW showroom to check out their latest collection of bags and accessories. Metrocity first launched in Firenze, Italy, and has since then made its way to Korea, and now Japan. All of their products are of very high quality, textures and designs. Metrocity told me they recently had an exclusive blogger event in Firenze - I think it's great that this brand is reaching out to bloggers, including myself. And I just love how Jessica Alba is the image model for the brand this year. Thanks always for a great time, Metrocity!

in remembrance

It's already been two years since my dad's passing, and it really makes me realize how quickly time flies. But there's almost never been a day where I do not think of him and miss his presence. This is probably the last photo I ever took with him at my college graduation, and I had left for Japan a few months later, and never got to see him in person after that. There are still many things I regret not telling him or doing with him, but I know that I will reunite with him in Heaven. I hope I can make you proud until then. I miss you and love you, Dad.

StyleShare x Paris Contest (win a trip for 2!)

Amy is one of the closest friends I've made since moving to Japan, and we've been through many ups and downs together. One of the best memories I have with her is traveling to Vietnam for work, and I enjoyed every minute of it with her. Which is why I decided to enter the StyleShare x Paris contest with her - who wouldn't want to win a trip for two to Paris? The contest asks for a photo of yourself with your friend wearing one matching item. Amy and I actually met up for dinner once, and realized we were wearing very similar outfits. Great minds think alike! We decided to wear the same outfit again for this shoot :)

In Japan, Obon holiday is coming to an end, which means everyone will be going back to the daily grind. Which also means fall is slowly approaching. Although I can't wait to wear knits and sweaters, I still want to enjoy the rest of the warm weather in lighter clothing. This silk setup from Le Ciel Bleu  is a chic way to wear bold marine print, and while wearing this kind of print in navy and white imay be popular, black and white is more mature way to wear it. I kept the rest of the look very simple in more black and off-white accessories.

It seems like it'll be raining for the next few days here, but I hope we'll be blessed with good weather the rest of the summer! Are you enjoying your summer so far? 

日本では、お盆休みが終わり、また皆さんも普段の生活に戻りますね。そして、お盆が終わると、秋に一歩近づいているということでもあります。ニットやセーターを着るのは待ち遠しいですが、まだまだこの暖かい気候を味わいたいです。ルシェルブルーのこのシルクのセットアップは、マリンプリントをシックに着こなせます。こういうボールドなマリンプリントはネイビーと白で着るのが夏っぽいかもしれませんが、このようなモノトーンの色合いの方がもっと大人っぽいので、好きです。アクセサリーもシンプルにしました。

ここ何日かは雨が続きそうですが、そのあとはいい天気になって欲しいです！残りの夏をまだ楽しみたいので。皆さんは、夏を楽しんでいますか？
