A casual little black dress pt. 1 (featuring Tobi)

The LBD in the traditional sense is designed for a formal setting, but I'm proving it wrong with my 2-part series. This casual Amarah buttoned halter dress from Tobi is perfect for a day out, and even for cocktails in the evening. I actually wore it to Vegas when I went to see David Guetta. And I just can't get enough of all things black, so this time I paired my Chiara Ferragni espadrilles from Farfetch and my trusty zeroUVs. It's always possible to dress both chic and casually at the same time.

The Lab, Costa Mesa

I spent my last day in California, mostly with my brother because he suggested going shopping (which ended up being my shopping trip), and then the three of us with my mom for his birthday dinner. I always love shopping at The LAB in Costa Mesa because of how hipster it is and the perfect photo spots throughout the area. Going through these photos is making me miss home already. But Tokyo will suffice as home for me now.

カリフォルニアでの最終日は、弟とお買い物をして、最後に弟の誕生日を祝いに、母と三人でディナーに行きました。ショッピングはコスタメサのThe Labでするのが一番好き。日本にはないお洒落感で溢れていて、撮影スポットとしても最適です。この写真を見返すと、実家がすでに恋しくなります。でも、東京は現在の「家」で十分です。

First signs of spring (featuring Tobi & Klasse14)

Once in a while, I love adding some elegance to my look, and this was made possible with this chic Tobi bravado skirt. The asymmetrical hem is unique, which allows me to wear a short and longer length simultaneously, and not look too sexy or too modest. I accentuated the silhouette of the skirt with this tropical print crop top from Forever 21, plus simple heels and retro sunglasses. And the bold red lip balanced it all out. As I mentioned in my previous outfit post, Jimbocho is an interesting part of Tokyo, with its luxurious landscapes and buildings along the wider streets, and smaller, more traditional Japanese shops in between. Lisa and I found it a great place to do photo shoots involving several different outfits. The lights in the evening are so romantic as well :)

You can always count on Shibuya to be colorful and full of life with the hustle and bustle of city-goers. That's why I chose to shoot this particular outfit here. The ultimate monochrome, just black and white with some mesh detail in this funky top from Tobi, now one of my favorite online stores. They have way too many cute items at affordable prices. Anyways, this asymmetrical mesh top caught my eye, as I could see it being an ideal piece in my wardrobe to add some spice to an outfit. I paired it with simple white skinny pants from Comptoir des Cotonniers to lighten up the outfit, but I would also pair it with a skirt or shorts on warmer days. One point of advice when constructing a monochromatic outfit: add a touch of color somewhere in there, even if it's just a bold lip color :)
