The long-awaited cherry blossom season has finally arrived, and it's looking a lot more like spring in Tokyo. Lisa from Paint with Stars and I have been shooting during cherry blossom season (check out our post from last year), and this year turned out to be even better weather-wise. Ueno park was lively with tourists and families trying to enjoy and capture the beauty of sakura on their cameras as well. These distinct changes of seasons are what make me proud to be Japanese, and to be able to live in Japan to savor it all.

Last week, I received a few items from the French brand Comptoir des Cotonniers, and these boyfriend jeans were one of them. These are the best boyfriend-fit jeans hands down - perfect fit,  perfect wash, perfect length. I rolled mine up a bit to balance them out with my heels. Some of my Uniqlo pieces from last season went perfectly with the denim. Perfect for a stroll in the park underneath the pink blossoms:)

桜が咲きましたね！お花見をした方も多かったみたいです。私とリサさんは、上野公園の桜を見に、やってきました。観光客や家族連れでにぎわっていました！流石日本の桜田なーと、改めて思いました。こういう時、日本人でよかった、日本に住んでて幸せだ、と思います。

先日、コントワー・デ・コトニエからデニムなど、可愛いアイテムをたくさん頂きました。今回は、コントワーのボーイフレンドデニムでコーデを組んでみました。フィット感と長さがちょうどいい、パーフェクトなデニムです。ユニクロのスェットとトレンチ、そしてスティーブ・マデンのヒールでちょっと大人っぽく。公園でのお散歩にぴったり♪

Rouge Coco

From the Rouge Coco launch event at the Chanel in Omotesando, Tokyo. I finally had the opportunity to try on every shade imaginable of Chanel lipstick. But I think the Rouge Coco in Gabrielle (worn on Keira Knightley here) is my favorite. I love a classic red lipstick. My girlfriends Marie and Hikaru & I enjoyed some adorable hors d'oeuvres and a photo/video booth on the 3rd floor. Thanks for having us Chanel Japan!

今夜は、シャネル表参道店でのルージュココのイベントに行ってきました。友達のマリーとひかるちゃんと色んな色のルージュをトライして、女子力を満喫しちゃいました。私はCMに出演中のKeira KnightleyさんがつけているGabrielleが一番好き！クラシックなレッドは欠かせませんね。シャネルで楽しい夜でした♪

#BeCoolAroundTheWorld Tokyo fashion interview

Another Samantha Mariko interview, this time conducted by Italian actress Gaia Messerklinger. Sweet, gorgeous and bubbly, I totally enjoyed meeting her and answering any questions she had about Tokyo fashion and lifestyle. My friend Natalia and I met with her at a cafe in Shibuya to discuss what the fashion culture is like in Tokyo and our take on it. Tokyo Fashion Week 2015 Fall/Winter

And like that, Fashion Week is over. It's so crazy how all the shows and installments are crammed into a single week, and to see the photographers, press, bloggers, models, etc. hustling from location to location each day. Thanks to my friends and Maybelline Japan, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the shows I attended, and all the unique and inspiring fashionistas. I can't wait for next season's festivities. Until then... <3


ファッションウェークもとうとう終わってしまいましたが、本当に素晴らしい経験をすることが出来ました。でも、それは友人やメイベリンジャパンのお陰です！ありがとう！良い刺激になりました。やっぱりファッションは大好きなので、これからもファッションで自分をもっともっと磨きたいと思いました。来シーズンが楽しみ！

MBFW Tokyo - John Lawrence Sullivan 2015 AW

John Lawrence Sullivan 2015 Fall/Winter at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.

John Lawrence Sullivan is a men's and women's brand designed by Arashi Yanagawa, a former professional boxer. Established in 2003, this brand is known for producing edgy styles while maintaining traditional elements, with a main focus on masculine taste. I was in awe at the entire collection - I love traditional looks with a modern twist. Each look had subtle details, whether it was in the color, the silhouette, or the accessories. The coats were definitely my favorite, especially that metallic, out-of-this-world one. I think each of these looks perfectly matched the futuristic hair and makeup that was explained during my backstage visit. Also, it goes to show that women look great in mens-inspired fashion!


ファッションウェークで最後に拝見させたランウェイ、John Lawrence Sullivan 2015 AW. デザイナーのArashi Yanagawaが２００３年に設立し、エッジの効いた、テーラードデザインが特徴の男性像を基本的にコンセプトとしたブランドです。このコレクションを目にして、まさにその通りと実感しました。メンズもウィメンズも、きりっとしたラインの綺麗なルックばかりでした。トラディショナルでもあり、でもモダンな感じがとても伝わってきました。メタリックのコートなど、とても未来的な印象。ヘアメイクと相性抜群の、素晴らしいランウェイでした！

Backstage with Maybelline Japan for Sulvam

Before the John Lawrence Sullivan show yesterday, I visited backstage with Maybelline Japan to check out the makeup for the show.

Renowned Japanese makeup artist MIZU explained that the concept of John Lawrence Sullivan's 2015 Fall/Winter collection is all about the futuristic look, with pale nudes and touches of shimmer around the eyes. Some of the products he used were the Super Mineral 24 Liquid Foundation, the Pure Glow Mineral Powder Foundation, and the Big Eyes Eyeshadow. He also used Essie nail polish 501 in au natural. It's amazing how high in quality Maybelline products are, and at such an affordable price. MIZU did a phenomenal job creating an icy, futuristic look for each of the models. Y

昨日は、John Lawrence Sullivan のバックステージにお邪魔しました。今回はメイク担当のMIZUさんに、メイベリンジャパンの商品を使ったモデルさんたちのルックを説明してくれました。このショーのテーマは「未来的。」とういうことで、ペールヌーディーの色合いをファンデーションやコンシーラーで作ったり、ちょっと光沢感を足したりと、本当に綺麗にモデルさんのルックが仕上がりました。使用していた商品の中で、メイベリンSPミネラルリキッドロングキープ,　メイベリンピュアミネラルグロウ,　そしてメイベリンアイシャドウBR−１。メイベリンのコスメは使っていますか？

MBFW Tokyo - Sulvam Mens 2015 AW

This was my first time attending a men's fashion show, and I must say, I was very impressed with Sulvam's AW collection. Clean silhouette's, dark hues with a pop of color, dressy with a hint of casual. So many subtle details in the material, colors and hemlines made the collection more interesting. And can't forget the variety of headwear sported in many of the looks. Who knew a suit would look so good with a head wrap?

メンズのランウェイを見るのは初めてでしたが、サルヴァムのAWコレクションには魅了されました。とてもクリーンなシルエットに、濃い色合いに所々ポップなカラー、そしてドレッシーとカジュアルのミックス。私が男性だったら絶対着用したいコレクションですね！しかも、ヘッドウェアがかっこ良かったです。お好きなルックはありましたか？
