The Line Hotel pt. 1

I'm still in the process of sorting out all the photos I took during my LA trip, so they'll be coming up over the next couple of days. One of my favorite destinations was the Line Hotel in K-town. My girl friend introduced me to this cute little hotel, and I wanted to check out the place myself. The bar and lounge area really is the perfect to enjoy some drinks and music. I grabbed my Free People dress (worn here in a previous post) and these suede Steve Madden sandals for the occasion. Come back to see part 2 of this series <3

It's hard to believe we've already passed mid-November, and the colorful leaves are starting to flutter onto the pavements to create golden carpets. I'm recently very into vests because they provide the perfect level of warmth for these semi-chilly days. This faux leather/fur vest from Forever 21 is my favorite - it's casual yet chic at the same time. And this denim dress from Free People is one of the most comfortable dresses I own, and I love it! I was a little doubtful at the boxy silhouette at first, but after wearing it several times, the doubt vanished. These photos were taken in the backstreets of Harajuku by the talented Oscar Cruz. The wall clock and the octopus plant look unreal, but they were so real.

もうすでに１１月中旬が過ぎ、色とりどりの葉が道に舞い降りて黄色い絨毯を作っています。最近ハマっているものはベストです。ちょっと冷えている日にベストを着ると、ちょうどいい暖かさだからです。このForever 21のフェークレザーとファーのベストはお気に入りです。カジュアルですが、シックにも着こなせる万能なアイテム。そして、このFree People のデニムワンピースは、オーバーサイズで着心地が本当にいい！最初は、四角いシルエットに疑問はありましたが、いざ着てみたら、全然気にならなくなりました。この写真は原宿の裏道で、Oscar Cruzさんに撮ってもらったものです。大きな時計とたこみたいな植物は本当に存在するの？ってくらいリアルに見えない。

"Romantic" is the best word to describe how I feel when I wear this New Romantics Beloved Floral dress from Free People. I rarely wear floral prints, but something subtle and deep in color like this is fine by me. The ribbon and the neckline are my favorite details - probably one of the most feminine dresses I now own. 

このFree Peopleのワンピースは、一言で「ロマンチック」という言葉が一番当てはまるでしょう。そんな気分になります。フローラルプリントはほとんど着ませんが、これくらいの小柄でディープな色合いだったら着たいと思います。リボンとネックラインがすごく好き。今持っているワンピースの中で一番女性らしいかも。

I don't know anyone around me that doesn't like Free People, and if I could, I would wear everything on their website. This airy, black lace blouse is a new favorite of mine - I just love how it moves in the wind, and the beautiful lace detail across the shoulders. I wanted to contrast this dark, almost gothic look with the clean-cut buildings and architecture of Shinjuku. Because romanticism still exists, even though the times keep changing.

私の周りにFree Peopleを好きじゃない人は一人もいない気がする。できれば、全商品を着用したい。このエアリーな黒のレースのブラウスは最近のお気に入りです！着心地がすごくいいし、肩幅のレースのディテールが素敵なの。このムーディーでダークな雰囲気のコーディネートを背景の新宿の未来的なビルとコントラストしたかった。今でも、この変わりゆく時代の中に、まだロマン主義は存在するから。

I currently live in an area where it takes 2 hours in the least to get to the nearest beach, so it was a real privilege growing up next to one in Surf City Huntington Beach. My brother and I took a quick drive to our local beach and enjoyed some California sun. When my dad passed away two summers ago, all I wanted to wear was black, no matter how warm it was. I always thought it was respectful to mourn for those who have passed by wearing black. Just two weeks ago, my grandmother passed away, but the things I remember most about her are her smile, laughter, her warmth and love. Instead of donning myself all in black, I want to celebrate her amazing life by wearing some more color. I hope to follow her footsteps and be a more gracious and caring person for myself and those around me.

Trying to live life more colorfully, take it day by day, and make the best of it. Until next time, California.

現在住んでいるところは、海まで2時間はかかるので、海の近くで生まれ育ったことに感謝してます。先日、弟とハンティントン・ビーチまでちょこっとドライブしてきました。2年前の夏、父が亡くなったとき、どんなに暑くても黒以外の色は着たくありませんでした。2週間前、祖母が亡くなりましたが、一番思い出に残っているのは彼女の笑顔と笑い声、心の暖かさととてつもない愛。暗い色で彼女の死を悲しむより、もっと色を取り入れて、彼女の素敵な人生を祝いたい。祖母のように、愛想の良い、気遣いのある女性になりたいです。

人生をもっとカラフルに、頑張って生きていこう。カリフォルニア、またね。

And the bob becomes shorter. I think this is the shortest I've ever had my hair, and I absolutely love it. Having the perfect cut can really add a sophisticated touch to an outfit. And with my shorter 'do, I thought it would be a good opportunity to try some statement earrings. I fell in love with these gorgeous earrings from SLY at their 2015 SS Exhibition, and I was even happier when they finally arrived. Can't wait to wear them in the summer with lighter attire.

It's been raining a bit this past weekend and the beginning of the week, which is why I opted for my Doc Martens - they are the best waterproof boots, ever. Luckily, it stopped raining by the time Lisa and I shot these photos in Shinjuku. She was also kind enough to shoot footage for my 2nd Youtube video, and first OOTD video. It's really short, simple and to the point, and hopefully we were able to deliver the essence of Shinjuku, one of the more interesting and sometimes crazy locations in Tokyo. Thanks for watching.<3

また髪の毛をバッサリ切りました！多分、人生で一番短いです。でも、やっぱり綺麗めのショートボブはお洒落だし、色々な服に合う気がする。今回は、SLYの展示会に行ったとき一目惚れしたジュエリーイアリングを付けてみました。色が本当に綺麗です！そして、最近はなぜか雨の日が続いているので、この日は愛用している白のドックマーチンをチョイス。私にとって、持ってこいの雨靴です！今回のコーデは、私の好きなちょっとヴィンテージ風に。あと、ビデオも作ってみました！是非見てみてください♪
