Shinjuku lights

An evening stroll near Shinjuku station. These festive holiday lights remind me of the times my family and I used to walk around then neighborhood to see all the pretty Christmas decorations. 

新宿駅近辺のイルミネーション。こういうクリスマスライトを見てると、子供の頃家族と近所のクリスマスライト＆デコレーションを見に回ってた時を思い出す。

Every time I meet and work with a new photographer, I am always amazed at their skill at capturing the model and atmosphere of the location with their unique vision. And Spanish photographer Yuky Lutz is no exception. Not until I saw the first photograph did I realize how beautiful a crazy city like Shinjuku can be. Yuky's high contrast and bright colors are truly captivating, and I am so lucky to have been able to shoot with him this time around. Thank you for the beautiful photographs. 

撮影する度に、新しいカメラマンとの出会いはいつも刺激的です。カメラマンの個性は毎回違うし、その人のレンズに写るモデルや景色はとてもユニークに見える。スペインのカメラマン、Yuky Lutzさんはまさに個性的なカメラマンだと思います。最初の画像を目にしたときは、感動しました。見慣れている新宿の街が、こんなにカラフルで綺麗に見えるなんて。Yukyさんとこんな素晴らしい撮影ができて、光栄でした。ありがとうございます！

I don't know anyone around me that doesn't like Free People, and if I could, I would wear everything on their website. This airy, black lace blouse is a new favorite of mine - I just love how it moves in the wind, and the beautiful lace detail across the shoulders. I wanted to contrast this dark, almost gothic look with the clean-cut buildings and architecture of Shinjuku. Because romanticism still exists, even though the times keep changing.

私の周りにFree Peopleを好きじゃない人は一人もいない気がする。できれば、全商品を着用したい。このエアリーな黒のレースのブラウスは最近のお気に入りです！着心地がすごくいいし、肩幅のレースのディテールが素敵なの。このムーディーでダークな雰囲気のコーディネートを背景の新宿の未来的なビルとコントラストしたかった。今でも、この変わりゆく時代の中に、まだロマン主義は存在するから。

H&M Flagship Store Shinjuku Tokyo renewal party

The H&M flagship store in Shinjuku had its renewal opening party a couple nights ago, and there was no way I was going to miss this! The new layout was so much better than I had imagined, and the fall looks were amazing! The champagne, the hors d'oeuvres, the photo booth, and then a surprise performance by Crystal Kay made this party complete. You can tell Tina and I completely enjoyed ourselves in the photo booth (sorry people in line behind us!)

数日前のH&M新宿フラッグシップ店のリニューアルオープニングパーティーに行ってきました。これは絶対見逃せない！と思って行きましたが、まさにその通りでした。秋冬のルックスもすごい素敵だったし、シャンパンも、綺麗なデザートも、フォトブースも、そして、Crystal Kayのサプライズパフォーマンスも最高でした！私とティナちゃんも大満足でした♪今年の秋冬も楽しみですね！

The awesome thing about the sunglasses brand zero UV is that they are from Surf City, California, just like me. Zero UV was kind enough to meet me out here during this immense heat wave in Tokyo.  We chatted over French toast and coffee at Aaliya cafe in Shinjuku, and shot some footage for their website afterwards. Amazing, amazing brand & team. Thank you for such a fun time and hope to see you again soon, zero UV!

最近愛用しているサングラスのブランドzero UVは、私の実家のハンティントン・ビーチからのブランドなんです。本当に偶然！今回は、zero UVさんが東京で出張にいらしていたので、お会いすることができました。新宿のアーリヤでお茶しながら美味しいフレンチトーストを頂いて、そのあとはビデオ用の動画を撮影。とても楽しい時間でした！可愛いサングラスをいつもありがとうございます！

You won't believe how gloomy the weather is over here in Tokyo right now by glancing at these photos! I can't wait for the summer sunshine to arrive in time for my birthday. For this outfit, I used the same concept of summer whites and prints from a previous post (see post here), but this time with pants and a bold yellow top I picked up at H&M. These slim-fit pants from Comptoir des Cotonniers fit me so well, and they can be worn dressed up or down. 

I think by now most of you may have noticed that I wear many different styles. Being a model and blogger and being exposed to so many styles and brands, it's so hard for me to just stick to one kind of wardrobe or look. I always try to wear what makes me feel good & confident. And I've definitely changed my style considerably in the past year or so! Haircuts really do make a difference :) 

ただいま、この写真達とは真逆の天気でございます。毎日雨の日が続くと、気分も憂鬱になりがちですが、こういう元気が出るような色合い着用したらいかがですか？前回使用したテーマを再利用して、サマーホワイトとボールドなプリントをミックスしました。このブラウスはH&Mで買い物をしたときにすぐに目に止まり、衝動買いしてしまいました（笑）そして、このコントワーの白デニムは、涼しい夏の日に大活躍！フィットも綺麗だし、白は何にでも合いますね。

私のブログを読んで下さっていたら気づいているかもしれませんが、私は様々なスタイルを着回しています。モデルとブロガーとして、色んなブランドとの出会いがあるので、これというスタイルに定められない自分がいます。でも、自身が持てるお洋服は着てるようにしてます。この数年を振り返ると、自分は結構変わったなーとも思います。ヘアチェンジもやはり大事ですね♪

Metrocity Pop-up in Shinjuku

Last weekend, I stopped by the Metrocity pop-up shop in the Shinjuku Odakyu department store. This brand first launched in Italy in 1992, and has since then launched in other countries, and now is making its way to Japan. This was my first time getting a glimpse into the brand, I was very impressed. All of their bags, accessories, clothing and shoes are high quality, stylish and colorful. Their bags, clutches and wallets were my favorite- you can tell they put so much detail into their craftsmanship by how useful they are. For me, I look for space and practicality, as well as, of course, the design and quality. If you're looking for the perfect bag, you must shop at Metrocity (check out their online store here!).

女子は、バッグがいくつあっても足りないですよね。先日、Metrocity というブランドの、小田急百貨店新宿店で行われていたポップアップに行ってきました。このブランドはバッグやアクセサリーをメインとしていて、本当にクオリティーが高いものばかりです。特に、バッグやクラッチ、お財布などがとても使いやすく、デザインがとてもお洒落で可愛いです。私にとって、使いやすさと収納スペース、そしてもちろんデザインとクオリティーをバッグに求めるので、Metrocityはまさに上記のポイントをすべてクリアしています。頂いたバッグも本当にお気に入りです。一年中大事に使おうと思います♪。皆さんも是非、オンラインストアをチェックして下さい！
