Mixing multiple styles in one outfit

I'm a hybrid, meaning I'm a mix between two different ethnicities, two different cultures. I'm bilingual, hence why my blog is written in English and Japanese, and also why I can understand both Japanese and American culture better than some. And ever since I've started living in Japan, my style has changed significantly as I continue to incorporate more and more Japanese trends and style with my California style.

So with that said, this OOTD is a mixture of different brands, styles and trends. The J Brand collaboration jacket from Comptoir des Cotonniers is military chic, with a clean silhouette that accentuates the waist. The Adidas by Rita Ora top is quite sporty on its own, but since the color scheme is similar to the jacket, I was able to tone it down with the jacket and the skirt. Skirts are the epitome of femininity, and this fringed denim skirt is a huge trend this season. Instead of shoes or sneakers, I thought a pair of dainty suede sandals would add an element of chic to the outfit. And along with military and sporty, I just had to add a touch of California style with the palm tree clutch and zeroUV sunglasses. 

Style is personality, and personality is style. Creativity in fashion is endless, so have fun with it!

そこで、今回のコーディネートは様々なブランド、スタイルとトレンドのミックスになっています。コントワのコラボレーションジャケットは、ウエストラインを綺麗に見せるミリタリーシック。Adidas by Rita Oraのトップスはそのままだと結構スポーティーなのですが、ジャケットと同じ色合いなので合わせやすく、フェミニンに着こなすことができました。スカートはどんなスタイルでも女性らしいし、今季のデニムフリンジトレンドを取り入れてみました。足元は、シューズやスニーかよりかは、品のあるスエードのサンダルをチョイス。そして、ミリタリーとスポーティースタイルに合わせて、カリフォルニアスタイルのクラッチとサングラスは欠かせません！

スタイルは性格を表し、性格はスタイルに導く。ファッションでの創造性は果てしないので、楽しむことが大切です。

The Line Hotel pt. 2

Lounging around in my room at the Line Hotel a few weeks ago, in all adidas. I picked up these Originals By Rita Ora kimono print leggings at Urban Outfitters, intrigued by the traditional Japanese design. When I'm in my comfort zone, expect me in something simple and comfortable. Hence the T-shirt & leggings look. I already miss my hipster little room LA <3

数週間前、ロサンゼルスのラインホテルにて。午前中は、オールadidasでゴロゴロしてました。このリタ・オーラコラボの着物プリントレギンスは、日本をイメージした鶴柄がすごく可愛い！一番居心地のいい場所にいる時は、割とシンプルで着やすいスタイルなんです。だから、Tシャツとレギンス。ラインホテルのお洒落ルームが恋しいな♡

Just as much as I like looking dressed-up and feminine, there's this super casual and I'll-wear-whatever-the-fuck-I-want side of me. I love wearing my dresses, skirts. crop tops and blouses, but I also like my loose boyfriend-fit jeans with a plain graphic tee. And I'm really hooked on this club-D remix of Iggy Azalea's "Work." I'm back in my hometown but only for a short week. I thought I would do a quick outfit post with photos courtesy of my youngest brother. He was nice enough to let me borrow his skateboard even though I can't skateboard for the life of me. We've been spending a lot of brother/sister time since we don't get to see each other often. And to do that, I need to be in the most comfortable outfit - a good ol' T-shirt & jeans.

今週、急遽一週間だけ実家に戻っています。あまりブログを更新できていないので、昨日のOOTDをアップします！弟が撮ってくれたもの。スケボーも貸してくれて、私はおそるおそるバランスを取っているところをパシャリ。OCにいる間はやっぱりカジュアルがベストだなあ。Tシャツとジーンズで十分！

A quick outfit post from a couple days back. I had a my friend snap these after our lunch date at Weekend Garage Tokyo in Shibuya. This was the day of the adidas party, so I was like, "I have to wear my adidas no matter what!" and this is the outfit I came up with. The weather was nice enough to pull out my beloved vintage Levi's jacket and my pleather skirt from the Dayz tokyo from the back of my closet, and to finish the look off with my New Era cap. Stark contrast to my last OOTD, eh?

何日か前のコーデはちょっとヒップホップ風。この日はadidasのイベントへ行くことになっていたので、「絶対adidas履いていかなきゃ！」と思い、このコーデにしあげました。デニムやミニスカートの季節になって、嬉しいです♪仕上げはNew Eraの白いキャップ。前回のコーデとは全然違うねw
